A wedding day should reflect your personalities, full of love, family and emotions and you can't script those (and nor should you!). A good wedding photographer will capture your day authentically, the emotions will be yours, the moments uniquely yours. Sure there are images that are expected, but at the end of the day the images you will cherish the most will be the ones that have meaning.

Unscripted Moments

Some of our favourite images from a wedding day are the unscripted moments, or the in-betweens when people forget that we are present. Their guards are down, and emotions are unchecked. These moments cannot be staged, and yet they are some of our most requested images.

Fathers seeing their daughter as a bride for the first time, grooms reviewing their vows, veils out of control, quiet kisses, or the groom's nerves as he waits for his bride.

Generations

A wedding day brings together family - the elderly, aunts and uncles will travel from far and wide, step-families, brothers and sisters and so on. There are very few occasions where families gather together in such large numbers so it is a perfect opportunity to capture memories together.

Your tribe

The people you choose to stand by your side and support you on your wedding day are usually your closest family and friends. Take some time out of your wedding day to spend with your nearest and dearest, kick off your shoes, pop some champagne, grab a beer and enjoy!

Kids

Children at weddings are literally - The Best. They are a source of great entertainment for photographers as they are completely in awe of everything about a wedding day. The people, the church, the dress, the pageantry. While at the same time not caring at ALL about social niceties. and therefore providing an endless supply of candid moments.

Establishment Shots

Say what now? These images establish where the wedding was held. It adds an element of story to the image, and gives a sense of place. Couples spend a lot of time planning their wedding day, and a lot of thought and often tradition is tied up in the decisions.

A Hero Shot

At the end of the wedding day I am always ridiculously excited to get home, load up the images and see the magic. I know exactly how I want the shots to look before I capture them so it is such a buzz to see the shots come to life on my screen.

My aim when shooting a wedding is to create a piece of fine art for my couple that they will print, frame and happily hang on their wall, which won't date, but rather will tell a story about the time in which they were married.

The Party

Every couple celebrates their nuptials differently, for some it's about tradition with drums and dancing, for others its a quiet social gathering over delicious food, or a group of friends coming together to eat, dance and party.

No matter how you celebrate, the images captured should reflect the day in all it's messy, love filled glory.
