Clementine's Professional Newborn Photography Session

It is such a beautiful time...bringing a new life into the world. What is extra special is when we get asked to photograph both a pregnancy and the newborn baby. It gives us as the professional photographers a bigger sense of connection.

New mum Lynn, chose our de lumiere pregnancy and newborn photography session where we capture both your bump and your bub. Today we bring you the newborn photography session.

Talk about melting our hearts. This little darling baby, Clementine, was just seven days new when we visited her and her parents at their home.

We arrived early for the baby photography session, as we find babies typically photograph best in the morning. We took about 2.5 hours for the session so there was time to relax, settle Clementine and take lots of different shots.

We brought along some wraps and baskets to help pose, settle and keep Clementine warm while we manoeuvred her about.

We love it when our parents allow us to work with their baby and take some time to relax and sit by and watch. We have photographed hundreds of babies and we have many settling and comforting techniques. At all times your baby will be safe and you can rest assured we have plenty of experience and infinite patience.

Clementine's proud parents prepared for the newborn session with headbands, bonnets and her cuddly toy ready for us to photograph. It is more personal if you can think about some items that you want photographed with your newborn baby or any special clothing that you love. The more simple baby clothes photograph the best and often, we capture them naked.

We also like to photograph in the baby nursery with all of the precious baby items and décor.

For us it is all about capturing the smallest of details. You will notice Clemintine's bubbles on her lips, the remnants of the umbilical cord and the flaking skin on those teeny tiny feet...all markers of such a new life. These photos are the type of images you will look back on. As new parents who are busy getting into a new way of life and such a big change, these little details can often be forgotten unless captured.
