A Maternity Photography Session on Balmoral Beach
Updated: Apr 24, 2020
Today we bring you a stunning pregnancy photography session captured at Balmoral Beach in Sydney. Lynn and Michael were eager to capture this special time right before the birth of their baby girl.

Wearing a beautiful maxi gown, Lynn was 36 weeks and looked absolutely gorgeous with her growing baby bump.
Together before the shoot, we decided on Balmoral Beach as the best location. Lynn & Michael wanted a casual and romantic feel to their photography.
We were met with some gloomy Sydney weather as clouds swirled and the sky grew darker which allowed us to capture some moody shots of our couple as they spent some time walking and cuddling.

Here are some of our helpful tips to help you plan and execute a stunning photo shoot of yourself your partner and your growing baby.
The location of your pregnancy photography shoot will set the mood of your photographs. Think about a special place that has meaning to you, that can be a great place to start.
Pregnancy photos outdoors can be gorgeous. Places like the beach as you see here, a rocky shore or a park during sunset are all beautiful options.
Having your pregnancy photo shoot in your home can mean you have more privacy. Also, getting photos of what everyday life is like now before your baby arrives may be a beautiful memory to capture. Lots of mums have been disappointed later on because they didn’t organise their pregnancy photos in time before their baby was born.
Choosing what to wear on any given day during your pregnancy can be a challenging decision. It’s not surprising that for some mums to be, choosing clothing pieces for pregnancy photos can be overwhelming. The most important thing to remember is that you want to look comfortable, calm and relaxed in your photos. In general, try to choose fabrics that are subtle and simple. You want the focus of the photo to be on you and your beautiful belly.
Whether you choose to go naked or semi naked, drape a piece of fabric across yourself or wear your favourite maternity dress – there are many ways for us to help you cleverly hide flaws and help you feel elegant and confident.
If you choose to wear clothes, pick items that accentuate your female shape… not hide it. And if you want to go for the semi naked look, consider wearing some nude coloured underwear under a piece of flowing fabric to help you feel a bit more comfortable.
